Dave Gurnsey - PresidentDave Gurnsey, SLS, CLS, P.Surv., MRICS, ICD.D
President, Geomatics

Dave Gurnsey has strong management skills and extensive geomatics experience. He has delivered land surveying services to clients in a number of industries, including the petroleum, pipeline, land development and mining sectors. In his leadership role at Altus Group, Dave champions unparalleled client service and adherence to superb quality and rigid technical standards.

Dave obtained a Survey Technician Diploma from the Saskatchewan Technical Institute in 1975, a Saskatchewan Land Surveyor commission in 1982, and a Canada Lands Surveyor commission in 1996. Dave completed the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program in 2016.

He was twice President of the Saskatchewan Land Surveyors Association (1987 and 2009) and Chairman of the SLSA Board of Examiners (1998-2007). Dave has been a member of the Professional Surveyors Canada professional liability insurance committee since 2010, and Chair since 2012. He was a Board Member of the Regina Qu’appelle Health Region Authority from 2015-17.

He began his geomatics career as a Survey Technician with Condon Surveys Ltd. in 1974, and was subsequently promoted to the position of Senior Crew Chief and then General Manager at Condon. He became a Vice President when Condon was acquired by Altus Group in 2007, and President, Geomatics in 2015.



Mitch Ettinger - Vice President Mitch Ettinger, P.Eng, ALS, CLS, NSLS
Vice President, Geomatics

Mitch Ettinger joined Altus in April 2014, with the acquisition of Maltais Geomatics Inc. (MGI). As the former Corporate Operations Manager at MGI, Mitch brings extensive experience with project estimating, management of professional and technical issues in field, crew scheduling and management of right-of-way planning research.

At Altus Group, Mitch oversees construction, legal, railway, and major pipeline projects in Alberta and manages several electric power transmission contracts. He maintains the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality products and services to all clients.

Mitch joined MGI as an articling land surveyor in 2005, and received his Alberta Land Surveyor commission in 2006. He obtained his P.Eng designation in 2007, and earned his Canada Lands Surveyor commission in 2008. In 2010, Mitch was elected to the MGI Board of Directors.

Mitch’s survey experience includes the management of electric power, construction, railway, subdivision, condominium projects, as well as control surveys. His field experience includes legal and construction surveys, staking overhead and underground power distribution lines and facilities, power transmission construction, right-of-way surveys and subdivision pre-engineering and control surveys.



 Milton Lemke – Vice President Milton Lemke, B.Sc.
Vice President, Geomatics

Milton Lemke brings a vast array and over 25 years of experience to Altus Group. His work in the survey industry includes project management for various oil and gas projects, crew and production management, quality control and client liaison. He has worked on a wide variety of geomatics projects involving technology integration, GIS, DEM, GNSS, remote sensing, photogrammetry, orthophotography, satellite imagery, AVL, 3D products, and mapping.

Milt joined Maltais Geomatics Inc. (MGI) in 2002, and Altus Group in the acquisition of MGI in 2014. Milt earned a B.Sc. in Geography (GIS and Remote Sensing) from the University of Alberta in 1989. He is an Associate Member of the Alberta Land Surveyors’ Association (ALSA) and was on the Professional Development Committee from 2007-2010.





 Rick Miciak - Controller Rick Miciak, CA
Controller, Geomatics

Rick Miciak has gained a wide range of professional experience in various industries over his 35 year career, including Manufacturing, Cable Television and Construction. In 2007, Rick joined Altus Group as the Geomatics Business Unit Controller and is a valuable member of our executive team.

Rick earned his Bachelor of Commerce in 1980, and began his accounting career with Deloitte’s in 1981. He received his Chartered Accountants Designation in 1985 and spent four additional years in public practice before venturing out into industry.









Sherry Norton - Vice PresidentSherry Norton, B.Sc., MF, MBA, RPF, CPHR
Vice President, Geomatics

Sherry Norton has provided forestry, land management and geographic information system (GIS) consulting services to a wide variety of forestry and energy clients and has extensive project management experience. Her responsibilities have included project monitoring and budgeting; resource acquisition, management, and allocation; quality control; training and development; and management of business operations and logistics.

Sherry earned a BSc in Forest Management from the University of Alberta in 1997 and her Registered Professional Forester designation in 2000. In 2007, she earned both an MBA (Natural Resource & Energy Specialization) and a Master of Forestry from the University of Alberta. In 2016, Sherry fulfilled the requirements to become a Chartered Professional in Human Resources.

Sherry was Chair of the Continuing Competence Committee and a Council member for the College of Alberta Professional Foresters in 2008-2010.

She began her geomatics career in 1998 as a Land Use Forester with Ezra Consulting Ltd., a privately-held forestry consultancy, and was subsequently promoted to the positions of Operations Manager and General Manager at Ezra. She became a Senior Director when Ezra was acquired by Altus Group in 2007 and Vice President in 2010.



Travis Wolfe - Vice President Travis Wolfe, SLS, P.Surv.
Vice President, Geomatics

Travis Wolfe has a wide range of professional experience in various aspects of the Geomatics industry, providing land surveying services to the provincial, municipal, and private sectors. His focus has been in the areas of Oil and Gas, Pipeline, Mining and Industrial sectors.

Travis earned a Diploma from the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology in 2002 and attended the Geomatics Degree Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2004. In 2008 Travis earned his Saskatchewan Land Surveyor commission and Professional Surveyor designation.

He began his surveying career as a survey assistant for the Condon Survey Group in 1998. Travis continued to work for Condon, holding various positions throughout Saskatchewan until the Condon Survey Group was purchased by Altus Group in 2007.
