Mitch Ettinger - President Mitch Ettinger, P.Eng, ALS, CLS, NSLS
President, Geomatics

Mitch Ettinger joined Altus in April 2014, with the acquisition of Maltais Geomatics Inc. (MGI). As the former Vice President in Geomatics, Mitch oversaw the Electric Power, Infrastructure, and Pipeline Divisions. Mitch became Geomatics President in 2018.

In his leadership role at Altus Group, he champions unparalleled client service with adherence to superb quality and rigid technical standards. He is responsible for the development of the Geomatics strategy and contributes to the development of the organization’s strategic goals.

Mitch received his Alberta Land Surveyor commission in 2006. He obtained his P.Eng designation in 2007, earned his Canada Lands Surveyor commission in 2008, and his Nova Scotia Land Surveyor commission in 2012. Mitch is a member of the Alberta Land Surveyors’ (ALSA) Discipline Committee, has served on the ALSA Standards Committee (2006-2008), the ALSA Practice Review Board (2013-2016) and as Chair for the Practice Review Board (2016-2017).

Jeff Wade - Vice President Jeff Wade, ALS
Vice President, Geomatics

Jeff Wade has a wide range of professional experience in various aspects of the geomatics industry; providing professional services to numerous sectors including the petroleum, pipeline, railway and land development industries. Jeff promotes high technical standards and dedication to meeting clients’ needs.

After working in several provinces and territories at the start of his career, Jeff began his Alberta geomatics career with Crape Geomatics Corporation in 2004. In 2007, Crape Geomatics was acquired by Altus Group, where Jeff became Branch Manager of the Calgary Geomatics office in 2013. In 2018, Jeff became a Vice President in Geomatics, where he oversees operations in Alberta and B.C.

Jeff obtained a diploma in Geomatics Engineering in 2002, and an advanced diploma in Marine Geomatics in 2003, both from the Centre of Geographic Sciences in Nova Scotia. He received a certificate of completion from the Canadian Board of Professional Surveyors (CBEPS) in 2007, and later acquired an Alberta Land Surveyor (ALS) commission in 2011.

 Rick Miciak - Controller Rick Miciak, CA
Controller, Geomatics

Rick Miciak has gained a wide range of professional experience in various industries over his 35 year career, including Manufacturing, Cable Television and Construction. In 2007, Rick joined Altus Group as the Geomatics Business Unit Controller and is a valuable member of our executive team.

Rick earned his Bachelor of Commerce in 1980, and began his accounting career with Deloitte’s in 1981. He received his Chartered Accountants Designation in 1985 and spent four additional years in public practice before venturing out into industry.

Sherry Norton - Vice PresidentSherry Norton, B.Sc., MF, MBA, RPF, CPHR
Vice President, Geomatics

Sherry Norton has provided forestry, land management and geographic information system (GIS) consulting services to a wide variety of forestry and energy clients and has extensive project management experience. Her responsibilities have included project monitoring and budgeting; resource acquisition, management, and allocation; quality control; training and development; and management of business operations and logistics.

Sherry earned a BSc in Forest Management from the University of Alberta in 1997 and her Registered Professional Forester designation in 2000. In 2007, she earned both an MBA (Natural Resource & Energy Specialization) and a Master of Forestry from the University of Alberta. In 2016, Sherry fulfilled the requirements to become a Chartered Professional in Human Resources.

Sherry was Chair of the Continuing Competence Committee and a Council member for the College of Alberta Professional Foresters in 2008-2010.

She began her geomatics career in 1998 as a Land Use Forester with Ezra Consulting Ltd., a privately-held forestry consultancy, and was subsequently promoted to the positions of Operations Manager and General Manager at Ezra. She became a Senior Director when Ezra was acquired by Altus Group in 2007 and Vice President in 2010.

Travis Wolfe - Vice President Travis Wolfe, SLS, P.Surv.
Vice President, Geomatics

Travis Wolfe has a wide range of professional experience in various aspects of the Geomatics industry, providing land surveying services to the provincial, municipal, and private sectors. His focus has been in the areas of Oil and Gas, Pipeline, Mining and Industrial sectors.

Travis earned a Diploma from the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology in 2002 and attended the Geomatics Degree Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2004. In 2008 Travis earned his Saskatchewan Land Surveyor commission and Professional Surveyor designation.

He began his surveying career as a survey assistant for the Condon Survey Group in 1998. Travis continued to work for Condon, holding various positions throughout Saskatchewan until the Condon Survey Group was purchased by Altus Group in 2007. Travis became a Vice President in 2015 and his focus is to drive operations in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the east coast.
